On Fear

F - false
E - expectations
A - appearing
R - real

I have been on the warpath against Fear all my life. Fear is rooted in mental perceptions of the future, in imagining negative outcomes. In one sense there is no IS "future" as in a reality, again it is just a projection based on what we know on what we have absorbed from society, history etc. People are thrown to imagining scary scenarios, it adds drama and even meaning to their lives. Their actions are driven by such imagining and projection, and yes "society" (whatever that really is) governments, media etc. uses it to scare people as a powerful tool. Scary scenarios such as global warming sell newspapers, obtains funding for research and creates support for misguided government actions. People are addicted to their fears, but it all boils down to a narrative in their heads, a narrative that once observed in awareness can easily be changed.
